The Brides of the Merchant’s House: What They Tell Us about Fashion and Social Custom

June Burns Bové, Adjunct Professor at the School of Graduate Studies, Fashion Institute of Technology; Textile Conservator at Yeshiva University Museum; and former consultant to The Costume Institute, Metropolitan Museum of Art, will discuss the two 19th century wedding dresses in the Merchant’s House Museum’s collection in the context of their times.
