    Empathy has become a gaping fault line in American culture. In this talk, Cris Beam will discuss empathy’s practice and potential—and the ways we can harness it in new and unusual ways. She will explore the latest findings and read from her new book, I Feel You: The Surprising Power of Extreme Empathy.

    Cris Beam is an author and professor in New York City. She is the author of four books, the most recent of which is I Feel You: The Surprising Power of Extreme Empathy, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in March 2018. Cris’ work has also been featured in the New York Times, The Awl, The Huffington Post, The Guardian and on This American Life.
