Celebrates Gay Pride Month With
Spirit Of Pride: Four Choirs And A Cathedral

Event will feature a groundbreaking combined performance by all four New York City LGBTQ choirs
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine will host The Spirit of Pride: Four Choirs and a Cathedral, a concert in celebration of the LGBTQIA community on on Saturday, May 31st from 8:00 p.m. – 10 p.m., at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th St.).
The evening of song will feature New York City Gay Men’s Chorus; the Stonewall Chorale, the nation’s first lesbian and gay chorus; Empire City Men’s Chorus, NYC’s only predominantly gay men’s ensemble dedicated to the performance of classical music; and Lavender Light, the Black and People of All Colors Lesbian and Gay Gospel Choir.
The Rev. Canon Julia E. Whitworth, Canon for Liturgy and the Arts at the Cathedral will give the welcome and opening remarks.
The Spirit of Pride is an annual event held by The Cathedral of St. John the Divine during Pride Month to celebrate the achievement, tenacity, and spirit of New York City’s LGBTQIA community. It is a continuation of the Cathedral’s commitment to diversity and social justice.
