Slam Allen — a 2013 inductee into the New York Blues Hall of Fame and the former longtime vocalist and lead guitarist for the James Cotton “Superharp” Band — takes the stage at B.B. King’s with his signature mix of retro blues and soul. Whether it’s one of his own new originals or a favorite from Otis Redding, B.B. King or Howlin’ Wolf, Allen captures the true spirit and rootsy sound of the classics while adding his stellar guitar playing as well. Billing himself as “The Soul Working Man,” Allen’s performed all over the world and released a pair of CDs.
