The stage play, Sibelius & Ida, transports us into the living room with Finland’s great composer Jean Sibelius and his favorite singer Ida Ekman, of whom he deemed “the incomparable Sibelius singer”. Several songs dedicated to and interpreted originally by Ida Ekman will be heard within the play by Finnish Soprano Mari Palo accompanied by the pianist Tuula Hallstrom. Stories and narration feature legendary Finnish actress Taina Elg. A Premiere event for New York audiences. Featuring songs by Jean Sibelius as experienced by actress Taina Elg with soprano Mari Palo and pianist Tuula Hällström.
