    Presidents Cup 2017

    September 26 – October 1, 2017

Presidents Cup, a first class international team match play competition featuring the top 24 golfers in the world (excluding Europe), will take over NYC for the FIRST time September 26 – October 1. The thrilling and unique competition – separated by team comradery, a spirit that transcends generations and excitement both on and off the course – will be played to a stunning back drop of the New York City skyline from Liberty National Golf Course. Steve Stricker will be leading the U.S. Team as captain for the first time in 2017 as it returns to American soil, and World Golf Hall of Fame member Nick Price will lead the International Team for the third time.

The Presidents Cup is held every two years, and since 1996 has alternated between United States and international venues. This year’s host venue, Liberty National, is one of the world’s most picturesque golf courses located along the Hudson River in Jersey City, New Jersey, with striking views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Manhattan skyline. The golf club fittingly opened on July 4, 2006, and is guided by the vision and leadership of former Reebok Founder/Chairman & CEO Paul Fireman. Designed by U.S. Open Champion Tom Kite and the late, esteemed golf course mastermind Bob Cupp, Liberty National has been the proud host to the first event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs in 2009 and 2013.

The Presidents Cup is a unique golf event in that there is no purse or prize money. Players are not personally paid for their participation, but each competitor receives an allocation of funds for charity of their choice. Since 1994, more than $38.4 million has been contributed to charities around the world, including a record $6 million distributed from the staging of the 2015 event. Over the past 21 years, the Presidents Cup has impacted more than 450 charities in 15 countries worldwide and 35 states in the U.S.

Citi, Alfa Romeo and Rolex are the exclusive Global Partners of the Presidents Cup.
