PAUSE/PLAY at the 14th Street Y

PAUSE/PLAY takes place on Saturday afternoons from 2:00 – 5:30 pm

The 14th Street Y through Downtown Jews presents, PAUSE/PLAY, an innovative Saturday afternoon of Shabbat programming, beginning November 14, 2015 and continuing one Saturday per month through March 2016.  Join us for recreational activities for adults and children at an event designed for our diverse Downtown Community at 344 East 14th Street. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 18 and $30 Family Tickets when purchased in advance online.  Day of ticketing is $15 for adults, $10 for kids under 18 and $40 family tickets. • November 14, 2015 – Thanksgiving (followed by a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Y’s new Playroof);
• December 12, 2015 – Chanukah;
• January 9, 2016 – Family Fit Day;

• March 12, 2016 – Purim

This fall and winter, rethink how you spend your Saturday afternoons: share it with your family, with others and with us. PAUSE/PLAY invites people to hit the pause button in their busy lives and experience the best of what the 14th Street Y has to offer.

You can stretch it out in Yoga or dive into Family Swim. Leave the kids in an engaging interactive music or science class while you explore Adult Meditation or study text with our own Executive Director Rabbi Shira Epstein. Children under 5 can enjoy PJ Play!, who presentsStone Soup with Matzoh Balls with Play Me a Story.  PJ Play! is funded by the PJ Library New York Metro Region Engagement Grant, awarded by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony – Saturday, November 14, 2015

After several years of fundraising and several months of renovations, the 14th Street Y is thrilled to reveal its new playroof. Join us for rooftop play and ribbon cutting as the community-wide event/closing ceremony of our first Pause/Play event on Saturday, November 14.

2-5pm: Pause/Play programming;

• 5pm: Open play on the new roof
• 5:30pm: Havdalah ceremony
• 5:45pm: Remarks and ribbon cutting
