If you aren’t familiar with the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, here is a brief history of our 200-year-old historic site. We were built in 1799 as a carriage house for a grand estate on East 61st Street. In 1826, we were transformed into a hotel for the up and coming middle class to visit on their day adventures above 14th Street. Please come visit us.
