MOCATalks with Randall Eng and creatives from The Stonewall Operas

    Tuesday, June 18

    at 6:30 pm

Join us as Randall Eng and composers, librettists, and performers of The Stonewall Operas discuss the process of creating and producing new operas about Stonewall. The event will include excerpts performed live by countertenor Jordan Rutter and music director Kelly Horsted, video excerpts from the performances at the Stonewall Inn, and a Q&A.

The Stonewall Operas are four brand-new short operas inspired by the Stonewall Uprising, written and composed by alums of NYU/Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program as part of the Advanced Opera Lab, led by Tisch professors Randall Eng and Sam Helfrich. The operas premiered in May with performances at NYU and at the Stonewall Inn itself, and are a joint collaboration between American Opera Projects, three different departments at NYU/Tisch (Graduate Musical Theatre Writing, Design, and Dance), and the New School.

Tickets are $15 and include wine and admission to the Museum of Chinese in America. MOCA Members are free. Not a Member? Join today!
