    An evening filled with Midsummer sounds, scents and magic from our Finnish and Hungarian landscapes. The concert will take place in beautiful St. Paul’s German Lutheran Church in Chelsea. Highlights will include the World Premiere of “Fern Flowers” by the young Finnish composer Uljas Pulkkis, a piano trio commissioned by the Chelsea Music Festival. The week of the Chelsea Music Festival falls on the time in Finland “Midsummer Night” is being celebrated. The piece references Finnish Tango as well as fern flowers, which are a part of the charming midsummer night’s eve mythology.  The program also includes works by Rautavaara, Pulkkis, the Five Finnish Folksongs arranged by the legendary Finnish pianist Ralf Gothoni and closes with the exhilarating piano quintet by Ernő Dohnányi.  Works by Dohnányi, Gothoni, LeFrak, Pulkkis, Rautavaara. Performers include Vladimir Babeshko, Weiyin Chen, Amy Galluzzo, Daniel Goldman, Tuula Hällström, Paul Huang, Angela Lee, Lisa Lee, Melinda Lee Masur, Derek Mosloff, Nicolas Namoradze, Mari Palo.
