    1940’s-Style Swing Dancing Event

      Multiple locations
      Lines may be capped at 3 pm
      Ship tours will be held in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island. Events are free and open to the public.
    • Marine Day
      8 am – 4 pm
      Brooklyn, New York (Prospect Park)
      U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) will host Marine Day in Prospect Park. Event will feature a formation run followed by military static displays, demos, and a performance by the USMC Battle Color Detachment. Event is free and open to the public.
    • Seabee STEM Challenge
      9 am – 5 pm
      Manhattan, New York (Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Pier 86)
      U.S. Navy Seabee Historical Foundation will host a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) challenge for visitors at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Pier. Event is free and open to the public.
    • Joint Aviation Static Display Event
      10 am – 2 pm
      East Meadow, New York (Eisenhower Park)
      U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps will host displays of aviation and personnel equipment. Navy Band Northeast scheduled to perform from 10 am – noon. Event is free and open to the public.
    • U.S. Coast Guard Search & Rescue Demo
      Noon – 12:30 pm
      Staten Island, New York (In view from Homeport Pier)
      U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) will conduct a Search and Rescue demonstration in the water of the Homeport Pier for visitors and ships to see. During the demo, a USCG rescue crew will drop a mannequin into the water to simulate a person in distress. A rescue swimmer will then jump into the water to secure the mannequin. Both the rescue swimmer and the mannequin are then lifted securely back into the helicopter. Event is free and open to the public.
    • U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment Performance
      8 pm – 9 pm
      Manhattan, New York (Father Duffy Square, Times Square)
      U.S. Marine Corps Battle Colors Detachment will perform at Father Duffy Square in Times Square in front of the TKTS red steps. Event is free and open to the public.

      North Cove Marina to 9/11 Memorial Site
      Sea service members, and New York-based first responders, will participate in annual Freedom Run. U.S. Marine Corps Battle Colors Detachment scheduled to perform following the run. Event is free and open to the public to view.

    • 2nd Annual Fleet Week at Liberty State Park

      Jersey City, New Jersey (1 Audrey Zapp Dr., Liberty State Park – take Exit 14B off NJ Turnpike)
      Event will include the U.S. Navy (USN) Parachute Team, The Leap Frogs; USN Dive Tank; Navy Band Northeast performance; USN helicopter static display; U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Silent Drill Team performance; USCG Search and Rescue demonstration; U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment performance; military static displays; kids activities; and much more.       Flagship Brewery and community memebers will host a music festival in honor of Fleet Week. Event is free and open to the public.
    • Navy Band Concert
      5 pm – 6 pm
      Manhattan, New York (Military Island, Times Square)
      Navy Band Northeast “Rhode Island Sound” will perform a concert at Military Island in Times Square. Event is free and open to the public.

    Parade’s participants begin arriving at 10:00 am
    at Restoration Plaza on Fulton St., Brooklyn.
    Parade will process up Marcy Ave. at 12:00 pm, turning onto Willoughby Ave. to end at BVSJ headquarters at 665 Willoughby Ave. (bet. Throop & Marcus Garvey Blvd.).

    • Greenwood Cemetary Annual Memorial Day Concert

      Bring a blanket and enjoy this free early summer performance – a NYC favorite! The concert features the ISO Symphonic Band, founded in 1995 to sponsor talented students throughout New York City and led by the band’s inimitable founder and conductor Brian P. Worsdale. Each year we feature the works of Green-Wood’s permanent residents Fred Ebb, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Leonard Bernstein, and many others. Enjoy the beautiful landscape with your fellow New Yorkers, as well local vendors selling food and drink throughout the day.

      Service members will participate in the annual parade hosted by American Legion Post#1285. This year the event will inclide 70th Anniversary of the American Legion Post and the renaming of the main street in Bayville in memory of Lance Corporal John Schaefer.       Event will include a ceremony, BBQ, military static displays, and free concert hosted by American Legion Post #170. Event is free and open to the public.

      Annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony will take place at Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument in Manhattan. This year’s event will commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the death of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Event is free and open to the public.

    • Annual New York Mets/USO Military Appreciation Day
      Citi Field | Flushing, New York
      Time: 1:10 p.m.
      New York Mets and the USO of New York will host the annual Military Appreciation Day. Mets will take on the Chicago White Sox. Events will include: first pitch, military enlistment, national anthem, flyover, U.S. Navy Parachute Team “The Leap Frogs” demonstration, and more.
    • U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Demonstration
      Time: 1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.
      Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86N | Manhattan, New York
      U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a search and rescue demonstration in the water off Pier 86N in Manhattan for visitors and ships to see.Event is free and open to the public.
    • Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade
      Monday, May 29.
      Participants are to gather at 1:00 pm and the parade kicks off at 2:00 pm at Jayson Ave. /Northern Blvd. in Queens.
      Prior to the parade at 10:00 am, there will be an interfaith service at St. Anastasia Church at 45-14 245th St. Immediately after the service, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place near the monument in the Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy schoolyard. At 11:30 am there will a Veterans breakfast located at Father Smith Hall in the Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy schoolyard. The closing ceremony will take place at St. Anastasia Church’s outdoor parking lot from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.
    • City Island Memorial Day Parade
      Monday, May 29
      Parade begins 1:45 pm at City Island Ave. & Belden St.
      Prior to the parade, UWVC will participate in two wreath-laying ceremonies in the area: the first, 10:30 am at Bicentennial Veteran Memorial Park (Throgs Neck Expressway at Pennyfield and Elisworth Aves.); and the second, 11:15 am at Throgs Neck Memorial Post – American Legion (1456 Shore Dr.).
    • Mamaroneck Memorial Day Parade
