Black History Month Celebration. Free community celebration of the Harlem Renaissance – music, dance, art.
A century ago the 369th Infantry Regiment, made up of nearly 3,000 African American soldiers, returned triumphantly to Harlem at the end of World War I marking the beginning of a social, political and cultural movement that would become known as the Harlem Renaissance. In honor of that milestone and the opening of Children’s Creations of Color: A Celebration of Black History Month, join us at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for a free community celebration of Harlem then, now, and tomorrow!
