Announces 2015 Kids Week Programs
Week Of Programming Provides Fun And Educational Activities During Presidents Week
February 16 – 21, 2015
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will host its annual Kids Week from Monday, February 16–Saturday, February 21. During Kids Week, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in dozens of fun-filled activities, hands-on workshops, live shows, special guests and demonstrations that the whole family will enjoy.
This year, Kids Week will explore the theme of flight. From the science of aviation to sustaining life in outer space, each day will offer unique opportunities for discovery. Kids can learn how to grow food in space, create their own telescopes, and master the physics of aviation while making a perfect paper airplane. Families can learn about the stars in our pop-up planetarium, watch exciting science demonstrations or brace for a breathtaking display with live birds of prey. Exciting presentations, Q&A sessions and meet-and-greets will take place with special guests including astronauts, aviators, children’s book authors, scientists and engineers.
Kids Week programming partners include i2 Camp, Talons! A Birds of Prey Experience, Dazzling Discoveries, Mad Science, The Lab for Robotics Education, NY Sun Works, Science Bob, PBS’ Space Racers, RoboFun, The Franklin Institute, The Cradle of Aviation Museum, Liberty Science Center, and many more!
In addition, Intrepid Museum educators will lead live interactive demonstrations, planetarium presentations, scavenger hunts, workshops and family aviation tours, and Tour Guides will lead themed Tour Guide Talks throughout each day.
