ANNOUNCES 2014 KIDS WEEK PROGRAMS
WEEK OF PROGRAMMING PROVIDES FUN AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES DURING PRESIDENTS WEEK
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will host its annual Kids Week from Saturday, February 15 – Sunday, February 23. During Kids Week, children will have the opportunity to participate in dozens of fun, educational and interactive activities the whole family will enjoy.
This year’s themed days include “Science Meets Science Fiction Weekend,” (2/15-2/16) “Superhero Headquarters,” (2/17) “Broadway on Intrepid,” (2/18) “Safari Adventure,” (2/19) “Music Fun,” (2/20) “Intrepid’s Ports of Call,” (2/21) and “Sports and Games Weekend” (2/22-2/23).
This year’s Kids Week programming partners include the New York Mets, Brooklyn Cyclones, New York Jets, New York Cosmos, Museum of Math, Tynker, Sesame Street Live, The Rockettes – Heart and Lights Dance Clinic, Animal Embassy, Liberty Science Center, United States Coast Guard, Tinkersphere, Sony Wonder Technology Lab, Time Warner Cable, Hudson River Park Trust, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Talons! Birds of Prey, Coca Cola, Broadway’s Aladdin, Lion King, Bronx Bombers, After Midnight, Newsies, Pippin, Matilda, Cinderella, and many more!
In addition to the special events and appearances, staff of the Intrepid Museum Education Department will lead interactive educational demonstrations and Tour Guides will lead themed tour guide talks throughout each day.
