    Fireworks Festival at Cross County Shopping Center, Yonkers

    Cross County Shopping Center is celebrating Independence Day as part of their SummerFest event series. Festivities kick off at 7pm with a live musical performance by The British Invasion. Top off the night with a fireworks display starting around 9:30. Free.

    Whereas many 4th of July celebrations emphasize fireworks first with music as an added perk, this event is the other way around. Enjoy music performed by a 60-piece orchestra of woodwinds and percussion in addition to a fireworks display.

    Beginning at 7pm the Annual Town of Southeast Fireworks Celebration is promised to bring fun for the whole family! Hang out as the evening goes on to enjoy music and the fireworks! Take the Harlem Line to the Southeast train station and hop on the free shuttle that takes you to the spectators’ area.

    Development of the Declaration of Independence lecture and reading of the declaration followed by an artillery drill and firing demonstrations. 1-3pm.

    Tannersville Parade and Fireworks, Main St, Tannersville

    Parade begins at 3pm down Main Street. Free live music by HTC High School Band, The Traps and Buffalo Stack from 3-11pm at the Colonial Country Club. Fireworks at dusk.

    Cold Spring Independence Day Celebration, Village of Cold Spring

    From 10am to 10pm celebrate Independence Day in the historic Village of Cold Spring. Walk the shop lined streets, swing by the different event vendors, participate in the festivities and end the evening watching the fireworks light up the Hudson River.

    Independence Day Celebration, Greenwood Lake

    Parade in the village at 11am. Fireworks at dusk at Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the fireworks show. 845-477-9215,

    Lake Carmel Fireworks

    Grab a blanket and find a spot around the lake to watch the fireworks, or if you know a parks district resident with a boat, take it on the lake for VIP access to the show. The fireworks will start around 8:45pm and the event will last for about an hour. No angle is a bad angle for the Lake Carmel fireworks, but make sure to get there early as surrounding roads will be closed off.

    Music Fest and Fireworks at Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla

    Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for a festive evening. The entertainment starts things off at 6pm. Fireworks start around 9:15. Free admission and parking; however, parking is limited.

    Annual Firemen’s Carnival & Fireworks Spectacular, Harbor Island Park, Mamaroneck

    This event has become a yearly tradition for my family. The Annual Fireman’s Carnival runs this year through July 5. After a day of carnival fun, grab a spot on the open green fields or along the marina to check out the fireworks show. There’s no bad viewing spot for the fireworks that start around 9:30. FREE admission; pay per ride at the carnival.

    Cornwall Independence Day Celebration, Cornwall

    Independence Day Breakfast at Highland Engine Co. 7-10am. Full day of activities on lawn of Cornwall Town Hall. Pet show, children’s art show, inflatable rides, craft fair, pie eating contest, family entertainment, live music, reading of the Declaration of Independence at 3:30pm, Flag Ceremony with Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem and Invocation at 6pm.     Independence Day at Knox’s Headquarters & New Windsor Cantonment, Vails Gate

    Celebrate the 4th at New Windsor Cantonment and Knox’s Headquarters, two sites hallowed by the soldiers who won our independence. At Knox’s Headquarters see a small cannon fired at 1pm and 4pm.     Peekskill 4th of July Celebration, Riverfront Green Park, Peekskill

    Enjoy a 2-hour concert with Lost Soulz as the “opening act” of the fireworks display.

    Spark of the Sound July 4th Fireworks, New Rochelle

    Check out this fireworks display from anywhere along New Rochelle’s waterfront. The best viewing spots, according to the City of New Rochelle, include Hudson Park, Five Islands Parks and Municipal Marina upper parking deck.

    Annual parade of floats, bands and marchers. Parade is on Washington Ave across from Saugerties High School at noon. Fireworks at Cantine Field at dusk.

    Baseball and Fireworks on Independence Day, “The Joe” at HVCC, Troy

    Tri-City Valley Cats v. State College Spikes. Celebrate Independence Day with baseball, fun and fireworks. The Tri-City Valley Cats are an affiliate of the Houston Astros and the State College Spikes are an affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Game begins at 6:30pm.

    New York State’s 4th of July Celebration, Empire State Plaza, Albany

    Price Chopper has presented this Albany tradition since our country’s bicentennial celebration in 1976. The annual holiday celebration features live music and fun for the whole family including the best fireworks show in the region. Each year, more than 30,000 people gather to enjoy the day at the Plaza, which includes a naturalization ceremony, dozens of food and craft vendors, activities for kids, and an evening of live entertainment leading up to the big pyrotechnics show. 11am-8pm.

    Windham on the 4th of July, Main St and Windham Mountain, Windham

    Sidewalk sale Main Street stores and restaurants, King Hill Miniature Horses for petting, magic, balloons and face painting by Cathleen the Clown. 2-7pm and music by Spanakopita 3-7pm followed by a Parade down Main Street.   A fun filled family day ending with Fireworks at Windham Mountain at dusk.
