Best Arm Wrestlers in the world compete at 39th Annual NYC Big Apple Grapple International Arm Wrestling Championships

Flushing, New York – June 29, 2016 —The New York Arm Wrestling Association (NYAWA) announced today that the 39th Annual NYC Big Apple Grapple International Arm Wrestling Championships and Crowning of the ‘King and Queen of Arms’® will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 1 PM. Cheap Shots Sports Bar (149-05 Union Turnpike Flushing, NY 11367) will host the City’s number one premiere arm wrestling championship and title event: Entrance fees are $35 for pros $25 for amateurs, Pro/Am and masters 45+ and 55+ years-old, and $15 for women. Competition is open to the public, age 18 years and older, and is divided into right and left hand weight classes for men and women, in both amateur and pro categories. Weigh-in and Registration begins at 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM Start Time. Spectator admission is $5.00 and the proud sponsors are Ironmind.com, Cheap Shots Sports Bar and New York Arm Wrestling Assoc.

More than 100 male and female athletes are expected to participate in this event, coming locally from the five NYC Boroughs, Long Island and tristate area; and from as far away as Canada, Puerto Rico, Russia and other foreign lands. Among those expected to take part are the 2015 Empire State Champions and defending NYC Big Apple Grapple International Champions.

The overall strongest right handed male and female will be crowned ‘King and Queen of Arms’® Over $4,000 in cash and prizes will be given at the awards ceremony including a $300 cash prize to the right-handed ‘King of Arms’ (overall male winner) and $250 for the overall left-handed male. The women’s ‘Queen of Arms’ will win $100 and women’s overall left-handed $50. All first, second and third place winners will receive large Olympic-size, custom-engraved gold, silver and bronze medallions with official NYAWA-seal plaques and certificates. Teams will also compete, grouped by Borough, State, and Country, with a point tally to determine the winning team prize. Captains of Crush Grippers® will be presented to all overall winners and sponsored by www.Ironmind.com.
