Girl Scouts Kicks Off National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend At Grand Central Terminal
Girl Scouts of the USA partners with Improv Everywhere to lead the NYC cookie premiere party.
Friday, February 7, 2014, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) will mark the start of Girl Scout cookie season with an all-day event in New York City, taking over Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal on Friday, February 7, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to give New Yorkers their first taste of this year’s cookies. The world’s largest girl-led business, the nearly $800-million Girl Scout Cookie Program aims to teach girls five essential life skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics, and people skills.
For this event, Girl Scouts of the USA has partnered with Improv Everywhere, a New York City–based creative collective founded by performer Charlie Todd, to lead the NYC cookie premiere party. Consumers will be able to get their photos snapped on the green carpet, meet their local #cookieboss, and stock up on their favorite Girl Scout Cookies. Over 200 girls from Girl Scouts of Greater New York will be participating in the event. Media are invited to learn more about the financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills that girls learn through the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
