House Tour Offers a Peak Inside Green-Wood’s Catacombs and Mausoleums
Walk on Your Own or Use their “Hop On, Hop Off” Trolley Service
Take advantage of this rare opportunity to see inside Green-Wood’s 19th-century catacombs and elaborate mausoleums during its Green-Wood House Tour on Saturday and Sunday, October 5th and 6th. Knowledgeable performers and actors in period costume will be on hand at each locale to offer a glimpse into the lives of the people who now rest in these opulent structures. Stops on the tour include the final resting places of the Steinways (makers of Steinway pianos), old New York aristocracy and shipping magnates the Schermerhorns, and other architecturally stunning structures – all usually closed to the public. Also open for viewing will be Green-Wood’s fascinating catacombs.
Visitors will be given a map of all the key locations to help with their self-guided walking tours. Green-Wood’s iconic green and yellow trolley will offer “hop on, hop off” service to key points of interest between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on both days.

COST: Single day: $20 for the general public; $15 for members of Green-Wood and Brooklyn Historical Society
Weekend pass: $30 for the general public; $25 for members of Green-Wood and Brooklyn Historical Society.
