Fleet Week New York announces free music festival on Staten Island

    7th annual Splash Music Festival at Staten Island Stapleton Homeport

    STATEN ISLAND, New York (NRMA) –The Staten Island Fleet Week Committee will host the 7th annual Splash Music Festival at Staten Island Stapleton Homeport, May 24 – 26.

    The free, open to the public festival will feature local musicians performing music from the 50s and 60s, rock ‘n roll, pop, jazz, as well as performances by Navy Band Northeast’s “Brass Band,” from the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I.

    Fleet Week New York, now in its 26th year, is the city’s time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. The week-long celebration has been held nearly every year since 1984. Nearly 1,500 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen are participating this year.
