Fashioned in Time: Costume Design
At the Museum of the City of New York
Sunday, April 3 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
The exhibition New York Yiddish Theater: From the Bowery to Broadway features many costumes designed by Eastern European Jewish immigrants worn in the Yiddish theaters of the Lower East Side. Get inspired by costumes that made their way onto the Yiddish stage more than a hundred years ago, then use paper and fabric to design a 3-dimensional costume sketch of your own. What character will you create?
