“Fancy Free and Enigmatic” opens with the salute to Leonard Bernstein, for his 100th birthday year with Three Dances from his first major Broadway hit, Fancy Free.  Next we will hear Mozart’s 23rd Piano Concerto. One could say that Mozart lived a “fancy- free” lifestyle and he also remains one the great musical enigmas. Our soloist for the concerto is the Israeli pianist Alon Goldstein, an impeccable Mozart interpreter. In the second half, we’ll feature Elgar’s Enigma Variations – with the immensely popular Nimrod movement – is a colorful musical sketchbook of the composer’s friends.
