The Cathedral of St. John the Divine Presents

    Enter the Conversation: Krista Tippett

    Wednesday, April 13

    7:00 – 8:30 pm

Cathedral of St. John the Divine
1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street)

Krista Tippett, Peabody Award–winning broadcaster and host of NPR’s On Being, will join The Very Reverend Dr. James A. Kowalski, Dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, for a conversation based on her new book, Becoming Wise: An Inquiry Into the Mystery and Art of Living, on Wednesday, April 13 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street).

Krista Tippett has interviewed some of the most notable figures of our times—theologians, scientists, poets, and activists. For Becoming Wise, those exchanges of wisdom have been woven into a cohesive narrative. The book offers a grounded and fiercely hopeful vision of humanity for this century—of personal growth but also renewed public life and human spiritual evolution. It insists on the possibility of a common life for this century marked by resilience and redemption, with beauty as a core moral value and civility and love as muscular practice.

The evening is presented as part of the Cathedral’s Enter the Conversation series, which invites world leaders, journalists, authors, and other top thinkers to discuss the most pressing social issues, in order to foster civic engagement and positive change.
