     Meet the Artists: El gato con botas 
    Welcome to another edition of Meet the Artists featuring singers Ginger Costa-Jackson, Karin Mushegain, Andrea Carroll, Craig Verm, Kevin Burdette, and Stefanos Koroneos of Gotham Chamber Opera and Tectonic Theater Project’s production of Xavier Montsalvatge’s  El gato con botas, presented December 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13 & 14, 2014, a co-production with El Museo del Barrio and Works and Process at the Guggenheim.

    Sunday, December 7

    Don’t miss Montsalvatge’s operatic take on the classic story of a mangy feline with magical talents. See the amazing Bunraku puppetry that turns a fairy tale into an afternoon of “tuneful,” “magical,” “exquisite,” and eye-opening opera.

    60 minutes. Sung in English.

    A Gotham Chamber Opera and Tectonic Theater Project production.

    Co-produced by El Museo del Barrio and Works & Process at the Guggenheim.

    FAMILY FIESTA

    Immediately following the performance (3:00 – 4:30 PM)

    A festive reception of sandwiches, dessert and beverages in the cafe of El Museo del Barrio.

    • Prizes for the most creative costume for those who wish to dress in character – Come dressed as the Princess, the Prince, the Ogre, or El gato himself!
