The theme of the 2017 parade will be: Our History to the Rhythm of Guira, Drum, and Accordion. Numerous events leading up to the parade will also incorporate the cultural and musical message including the Gala which will be hosted on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Dyker Beach Golf Club in Brooklyn, NY.
2017 Honorees for both the Gala and Parade are being considered. Those selected are notable Dominicans and Dominican Americans who will soon be made known to the public. Guests such as Maria Diaz, the Queen of Merengue Tipico, and singer El Nene “Amenazzy” whose summery music is a mix between Spanish-language R&B and light reggaeton, exclaimed their excitement at being present at the reception in support of the parade.
