    Join them for a first-person account of life in 1830s New York City as seen through the eyes of Fanny Trollope, a British visitor to 19th-century New York.  Discuss with her such topics as social class, race, and women\’s roles while sampling a historic cocktail, originally consisting of spirit, sugar, water and bitters.  Cocktails today are more varied and complex; is that true of social issues as well?
