World renowned for her parlor jazz concerts on Sundays, Marjorie Eliot makes her debut as playwright with a concertized reading of her work, entitled “Web of Mockery”. The play opens in 1971 and spans 18 years as we follow a fictional family, the Beamers in Sugar Hill, Harlem, New York. The Reading is underscored by music written by Marjorie Eliot and features Arthur French, actor and director, best known for his work in theatre and, more recently, Trip to Bountiful on Broadway. Sedric Choukron on flute will accompany Ms. Eliot on piano.
