Surprise Proposals, Wedding Ceremonies, Vow Renewals, and the 8th Annual Times Square Valentine Heart
On Valentine’s Day, the Times Square Alliance will be hosting a full day celebration of love and romance. Love birds will flock to the Crossroads of the World and share fairy tale moments starting with surprise proposals, followed by wedding ceremonies and culminating in a large vow renewal ceremony on February 14th at 46th Street and Broadway from 9:00 AM to 6:10 PM.
Live Surprise Proposals
Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Duffy Square (Times Square between 46 and 47 Streets, and between Broadway and 7th Avenue)
- Couples will have their special moment shared on one of the iconic screens overlooking Times Square as they surprise their valentine and pop the big question!
Live Wedding Ceremonies
Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Duffy Square near the Heart of Hearts sculpture
- Smitten sweethearts will say “I do” in Times Square on the most romantic day of the year near the eighth annual heart sculpture, Heart of Hearts – designed, created, and fabricated by the architectural collaboration Collective-LOK.
Vow Renewal Ceremony
6:00 PM – 6:10 PM in Duffy Square at the foot of the Red Steps
- Over 200 partners will reaffirm their love and commitment for each other on the Red Steps in Duffy Square. Spouses of all ages, genders, religions, races and backgrounds will once again renew their infinite bond of love.
Heart of Hearts – Times Square Valentine Heart
February 9 – March 6 in Duffy Square
- Since 2008, the Times Square Alliance has invited architecture and design firms to submit proposals for a romantic public art installation celebrating Valentine’s Day in Times Square. This year, Times Square Arts partnered with Center for Architecture to select Heart of Hearts by Collective-LOK (CLOK) as the winning design. CLOK’s Heart of Hearts is a faceted ring of golden, mirrored hearts that creates a kaleidoscopic pavilion multiplying the spectacle of Times Square. Diamond-shaped spaces inside each heart will create “kissing booths” within the ring where couples will find their activities mirrored, allowing both privacy and publicity in the Heart of Hearts.
