Socially-conscious hip-hop performer and actor Common will headline this year’s Opening Night. As an Academy and GRAMMY Award-winning artist, Common has become a prominent voice in hip-hop’s new millennium renaissance.
About the Gala:
On Tuesday, June 5th, BRIC will kick off a year-long celebration of our 40th year as New York City’s leading presenter of free cultural programming and pay special tribute to BRIC’s President, Leslie G. Schultz at the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! 40th Anniversary Opening Night Gala and Concert.
The Gala will include a cocktail hour and seated dinner in our welcoming Gala tent, reserved seats up front for the Opening Night Concert featuring a performance by Common, and drinks and dancing to DJ Spinna at our festive After Party. Proceeds from the event will enable BRIC continue serving over 260,000 annually with free world-class performance at the Prospect Bandshell.
