Brand New Fishing Clinics for Kids and Adults in Brooklyn Bridge Park This Summer
Free
August 9, 14 & September 14, 2019
Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy (Conservancy) and Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) are offering over 500 free and low-cost events over the course of the summer, which marks the 20th Anniversary of the Conservancy’s free, public programming in BBP.
This summer, the Conservancy is proud to announce the launch of brand-new Fishing Clinics for kids and adults.
Participants can learn how to tie fishing knots, bait a hook, cast a fishing rod, and even reel up a fish. Guided by a marine biologist and expert anglers, they will learn the basics of line fishing, while catch-and-releasing some of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s aquatic organisms. The clinics are produced in part by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, and equipment is provided on-site. While sessions are drop-in, participants are encouraged to RSVP on the website so that instructors can gauge flow.
