Brooklyn’s brightest stars shine on the same block as Matilda and Phantom of the Opera in Voices 2013, the fourth annual concert of Bay Ridge Vocal Studios. This year the program’s final concert moves to one of off-off Broadway’s most recognized venues, the Producers Club in Manhattan. Pianist and composer Dan Furman returns for his second year with the celebrated Brooklyn school of voice.
Mary Elizabeth MiCari’s vocal training ground gets bigger every year. Beginning in a church basement along the BQE in Brooklyn, Ms. MiCari’s burgeoning vocal program moved to Genesis Repertory’s Block Theatre the following year, then to the concert stage of the Bay Ridge Jewish Center, and now in the Producer’s Club’s Crowned Theatre. Where to next year, Mary?
The roster of talent gets better each year as well:

She has Broadway credentials that include Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Little Women, Wonderful Town, Light in the Piazza, Wicked, and Spamalot; She founded two theatrical companies; sung in numerous operas and musicals; portrayed many of Shakespeare’s queens – Elizabeth in Richard III, Gertrude in Hamlet, and Lady Macbeth – off-Broadway; and recently completed her first CD.
