“”Celebrate Bastille Day at New York’s best and liveliest summer fête — join us for a fun and festive afternoon of French food, wine, culture, and entertainment on East 60th Street, from Fifth Avenue to Lexington Avenue.
For over 20 years, Bastille Day on 60th Street, presented by the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), has been New York’s largest public celebration of France’s national holiday and its historic friendship with the United States. The day commemorates the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 and the birth of the modern French nation.
Abounding with French cuisine, musique, dance, and myriad attractions for the whole family, this three-block fête populaire invites New Yorkers to revel in the flavors, sounds, and joie de vivre of France!””
Keep in mind that yours truly, New Yorkled, has been to this festival twice long ago. Gotta mention how crowded it was. I mean, wall to wall or rather building to building people. Took maybe fifteen minutes to get from one corner to another. BUT, what a blast it was! I totally enjoyed the energy! You just might as well.
