Making it New:
Contemporary Novelists and the Jewish Literary Tradition
Sunday, March 9 at 3 pm
How do novelists writing about Jewish literature today relate to thousands of years of Jewish poetry and prose that preceded them? Writers Jonathan Rosen and Tova Mirvis have engaged thoughtfully and playfully with biblical, rabbinic, and modern Yiddish literary sources. Here they read from recent work and discuss the burdens and opportunities of working within such a tradition with Josh Lambert, Academic Director of the Yiddish Book Center.
