Panel Discussion: Having an Impact
Tuesday, February 18
6:00pm to 8:30pm
Small to mid-size public and private museums and art institutions are vital to the creative life of the city, but they struggle to balance financial and political imperatives in an evolving cultural landscape. Having an Impact will feature esteemed New York City cultural leaders who will examine the issues faced by institutions working to make their voices heard locally and across the city. Panelists will also discuss the importance of leadership and vision at the helm, the development of a strong board and core constituency, and methods for getting their messages heard amid the many voices vying for public, financial and critical attention. Panelists include Holly Block, Executive Director, The Bronx Museum of the Arts; Tom Finkelpearl, Executive Director, Queens Museum of Art; Linda Lees, Founder, Creative Cities and the Vitality Index; and Stephanie Roach, Director, The Flag Art Foundation. The panel will be moderated by Fran Kaufman, Kaufman Vardy Projects (kv-projects.com). A brief reception precedes the panel discussion.
Location: 2nd floor North Wing
