1040 Lounge: Portadores
Friday, April 25, 2014, 6:30 to 9pm
Portadores is a collaborative project between the artist Almudena Lobera and architect Isabel Martínez Abascal, and whose medium is living bodies. The project which consists of drawings (by Almudena Lobera) that are shown and tattooed onto the skin of volunteers (by Isabel Martínez Abascal) and then destroyed so that the only remaining and existing works are those on the skin. The execution of the dibuajes (drawings-tatoos) requires the collaboration of a viewer, who becomes an integral part of the work. This project aims to call into question the material form of the artwork and to explore social and relational notions.
The Bronx Museum of the Arts will host the performance of Portadores, together with an artist talk, and videos from previous presentations.
