With Free Activities and Fun for All
More than 300 lovable dogs, cats and bunnies available for adoption will be waiting to meet their new families at Adoptapalooza, on Sunday, May 31st in the north plaza at Union Square Park.
Hosted by the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, in partnership with the Petco Foundation, this fun event for the whole family also offers face painting, caricature portraits and photos of you and your pet – all free of charge. Adoption fees apply.
A special clinic will offer low-cost ($25) microchipping for cats and dogs; dog licensing for only $8.50 ($34 for animals that have not been spayed/neutered); and NYC Emergency Management/ Ready New York will provide important information to help pet owners prepare for emergencies.
The afternoon will also include pet food giveaways and Petco training sessions for dogs. Rock and Rawhide, a non-profit organization that distributes donated supplies to shelters and rescue groups, will collect clean blankets, sheets and pet toys for shelter animals.
