Featuring Handel’s Messiah
The First Presbyterian Church in the City of New York
The renowned Choir, Soloists, and Orchestra of The First Presbyterian Church in the City of New York will perform A Village Christmas Concert featuring the beloved George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. The Choir’s bi-annual performances of Messiah have become a Greenwich Village tradition, and one of New York City’s most captivating interpretations of this oratorio.
Organist and Choir Director, Dr. William F. Entriken conducts the event which includes four consummate soloists, and the celebrated choir and chamber orchestra. Dr. Entriken will also perform with orchestra Handel’s Organ Concerto in F Major, Opus 4, No. 4., which features the church’s grand pipe organ built by Sebastian Glück of New York.
This year’s performance is part of the commemoration of the church’s 300th Anniversary.
A wine and cheese reception with the artists follows in the church’s Great Hall.
