A Taste of Change: Cookbooks as Social and Historical Documents

    November 14, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Please be sure to check at the official Morris Jumel Mansion site for updates and to confirm this event.

Using family cookbooks ranging from the late 17th to the 20th centuries, food historian Peter Rose will provide a window into the private and social food history of the Dutch—specifically the settlers who founded New Netherland, the present-day states of NY, NJ, DE, and parts of MD, PA and CT. Attendees are encouraged to bring old family cookbooks/recipe boxes; a discussion of the importance of saving such items is part of the program. $25 per person, $20 for members. Advanced registration is required.
