Join them for the 9th Annual Brooke Jackman Race for Literacy on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Oyster Bay, NY. Funds raised through the event, which will include a 5K run/walk as well as a ¼ mile fun run for children ages eight and under, will support BJF’s many literacy initiatives that benefit children in need throughout the New York area. Kid’s arts and crafts will begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by a ¼ Mile Fun Run for Future Olympians, ages eight and under. The 5K race will start at 10:15 a.m.
The race, held in conjunction with the 11th Annual Health and Fitness Fair sponsored by the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce and Senator Carl L. Marcellino, will again cover our new USA Track & Field Certified course through the towns of Oyster Bay and Oyster Bay Cove. Whether you plan on running, walking or cheering friends and family from the sidelines, there are a number of ways to get involved. You can also start a team and raise money together online.
