Etsy NY Street Team to Host

7th Annual Holiday Handmade Cavalcade at Chelsea Market!

    Saturday, December 13 – Sunday, December 14, 2014

    10:00 am – 8:00 pm

At the Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Avenue between 15th and 16th Street

NEW YORK, NY (Nov. 13, 2014) – The holidays are making their way into town, and all those little elves will once again have help getting ready for the season as the Etsy NY Street Team prepares to host its seventh annual Holiday Handmade Cavalcade. The collective of local artists, designers and makers who sell their handmade goods on the online marketplace Etsy.com will help shoppers find the perfect, thoughtful gift for even the most discerning recipient on their list.

The grand weekend event will take place December 13th and 14th from 10am to 8pm and feature unique wares including clothing, jewelry, accessories, paper goods, body products, and more from 62 different indie vendors all based in the tri-state area!

The Holiday Handmade Cavalcade typically draws in more than 2,500 attendees each year, but with Chelsea Market as the new venue, this year’s shopping spectacular is sure to be the biggest yet! The gourmet food destination Chelsea Market is located at 75 Ninth Avenue between 15th and 16th Street, just steps away from New York’s famous High Line Park.

“The Etsy NY Team’s Holiday Handmade Cavalcade has made itself the place to buy locally made artisan and craft items. Whatever you’re shopping for this holiday season –be it jewelry, holiday cards, clothing, home decor and more – you will definitely find it there!” said Melissa Kelly, executive director for the Etsy NY Street Team. “We chose Chelsea Market as our location this year because it is a vibrant food and shopping hub in the heart of the city. We hope to reach more shoppers than ever before in this fantastic locale!”

Doors will open at 10am both Saturday and Sunday, and stay open until 8pm, but you’ll want to make sure you arrive early because the first 100 shoppers each day will receive a (highly anticipated!) goody bag filled with products and discounts donated by participating vendors. Several raffle packages will be up for grabs and Cavalcade sponsor Etsy will be on hand to offer free gift wrapping for any purchases made at the event.  Kiva Zip will also serve as sponsor and shoppers will have the opportunity to give back to their community by donating gently used coats for the New York Cares 26th Annual Coat Drive.

Get ready to shop for unique, creative, handmade gifts while supporting your local small businesses at the Holiday Handmade Cavalcade!

Admission to this event is free. For more information about the Etsy NY’s Holiday Handmade Cavalcade, visit www.handmadecavalcade.com.
