    Directions to the Festival by bus/subway – Please take the MTA or shuttle bus . –Again this year we’ve worked with the MTA to insure easy and safe transportation to the Festival site. Festival attendees can use their MetroCard or correct change to take the #7 Train to the CitiField stop and transfer from there to special MTA shuttle buses that will take them directly to the Festival site. Parking on-site is limited.

    RENOWNED BLUES ARTIST BRUCE KATZ HEADLINES THE MAIN STAGE AS TWO DAYS OF FREE MULTICULTURAL PERFORMANCES TAKE PLACE DURING THE 2019 HONG KONG DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK.

    Katz, one of the Country’s Greatest Living Blues Artists brings his band to perform on the Main Stage Sunday, August 4th @1:30pm. Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY.

    Bruce Katz is a legendary keyboardist (Hammond B3 and piano) who has released 10 CD’s as a leader and has appeared on over 70 other CD’s with the likes of John Hammond, Delbert McClinton, Ronnie Earl, Butch Trucks, Duke Robillard, Little Milton, Joe Louis Walker, David “Fathead” Newman, and many others. Bruce had a strong musical connection with the Allman Brothers band, having been a member of Gregg Allman’s Band for six years (2007-2013), Butch Trucks’ Freight Train Band (2015-2017) and Les Brers . Bruce toured with the Allman Brothers a number of times as well.

    His 10th & newest CD , “Get Your Groove!” (American Showplace Music) features many new original tunes, both vocal and instrumental. It continues the evolution of the band’s music from the improvisational “jam blues” and roots music he has explored as a member of the various Allman Brothers “family bands.” Bruce is a 5x nominee for the Blues Foundation’s “Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year” award, including 2018. Bruce recently won the BMA for “Acoustic Album of The Year”. He has also been nominated for the Living Blues “Outstanding Keyboardist” award twice (2015, 2019).

    HKDBFNY Continues its long tradition of featuring some of the region’s best Multicultural artists performing for the festival. The Opening Ceremony is at Noon on Saturday.

    The ever popular Echo Music Jam Band returns to kick of the activities at 10:30 on Sat , a collaboration between musicians in the Echo music scene and talented local singers showcasing the best of Pop, Rock, Alternative, and Metal music. The Chinese Music Ensemble of New York returns on Sunday to start the day, founded in 1961, the Chinese Music Ensemble of New York is one of the oldest and largest Chinese orchestras in the United States playing Cantonese traditional music. The traditional Mariachi Aguila y Plata returns as well bringing the most traditional and cultural Mariachi music of the tri state area. New this year GONG MUSIC provides a dynamic stage for Chinese music performance and education, to promote Chinese traditional music and develop modern elements in folk music to serve a diverse audience. Also new this year the School of Rock House Band, an audition-only band that . consists of some of their most talented students. A returning favorite crowd pleaser the Hudson Valley Storyteller Jonathan Kruk returns to spin “Dragon Tales.” The NY Shaolin Temple Kung Fu Association will entertain with its kung fu demonstration filled with punches and kicks.
