The Cathedral of St. John the Divine welcomes back New York Philharmonic Music Director Alan Gilbert as he leads the orchestra in Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 at the Annual Free Memorial Day Concert, at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street) on Monday, May 25, 2015 at 8 p.m.
This will be the 24th annual free Memorial Day Concert offered by the New York Philharmonic. This tradition began in 1992 as a gift to the people of New York City from the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation.
Tickets are required and will be distributed starting at 6 p.m. on the evening of the concert. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance. The concert will run continuously from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission to this performance is free; however, donations to the Cathedral are always appreciated.
