2021 South Street Seaport Tree Lighting Celebration

2021 South Street Seaport Tree Lighting Celebration

    Thursday, December 2, 2021

Taking place on the cobble stoned streets by the Seaport’s Pier 17 along Fulton Street.

Join in this annual celebration as the lights are turned on for this year’s Christmas Tree featuring live performances, treats and activities. And, hopefully Santa will make an appearance?

Here below is one of our shots of the tree taken many moons ago. Annually, they’ve always managed to have such a lovely one. You can spot choir singers there at the base which was always a treat. Not clear if this year’s celebration will be anything like this. Also, the skating rink was at this location for maybe a year or so. Another year it was at the pier itself. All to be replaced by its placement atop the new mall installation at Pier 17. That only lasted one year. IF there’s to be an actual rink in the vicinity then we’ll update our page(s) to reflect that.

Here’s a photo of the rink in 2013. That year’s beautiful tree can be seen in the distance.

The following details come courtesy of the official page here…
