The following comes courtesy of the official Sing for Hope website
“”Sing for Hope is bringing the renowned Sing for Hope Pianos back to the streets of New York City this summer. From June 3-23, in celebration of the work Sing for Hope does in communities year-round, we will bring the 2019 Sing for Hope Pianos—50 hubs of community and creativity for all people—to the parks and public spaces of all five boroughs, marking the 500th SFH Piano placed to date. These 50 unique playable masterpieces wouldn’t have been possible without our paint sponsor, Liquitex! Read more here.””
One of the many locations for these pianos would be the Brooklyn Navy Yard for which the folks there were kind enough to share the following information:
“”Come play a melody to support teaching the arts in NYC public schools! Designed by Seth Apter, this beautiful piano will be openly accessibly to all for the coming weeks. Afterward, the piano will be generously donated to a NYC public school. Come see it before its gone!””
