Annual Adult After-Hours Series Highlights Space Entrepreneurs

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will host its final AstroCafé event of the 2017 season beneath the iconic space shuttle Enterprise on Friday, November 3 at the Intrepid Museum located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue). Doors open 6:45pm, event begins at 7:30pm.

AstroCafé: The Privatization of Space is a curated adult lecture series offering the opportunity to learn about the latest discoveries and innovations in astrophysics, planetary science and more.

On November 3, Anup Singh, the co-founder and Chief Science Officer of InnaMed, will be discussing his company’s development of a connected, portable blood-testing device for chronically-ill patients that may one day be used by astronauts for health monitoring on multi-year missions (e.g. Mars).

Guests can also meet Joseph D. Fargnoli, co-founder of the New York Space Alliance, and learn about the space start-ups and service providers making New York the center of space entrepreneurship.  The event will feature music by Greg Ginsburg.

AstroCafé is open to adults age 21 and over. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Admission is free, but space is limited and registration is required.
