Celebrity “ballers” and spectators in years past include notable names such as Orlando Bloom, Ethan Hawke, Alessandro Nivola, Isaach de Bankole, Frank Whaley and Andrew Shue, and athletes Steve Nash, Tony Sanneh, Anderson Silva (mixed-martial artist), John McEnroe and Ndamukong Suh (Detroit Lions). A full list of participants will be announced.
5 v. 5 Industry Tournament: Consists of teams and players from within the creative industries. The tournament draws dozens of teams and hundreds of players from throughout the media, entertainment
and marketing landscape, including film studios, production companies, advertising agencies, recording labels, artist-management firms and TV shows — pitting industry siblings and rivals alike against each other in fast-paced, round-robin play. This year’s line-up of teams will represent over 30 companies and productions, including Sony Pictures Classics, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Comedy Central, Law and Order: SVU, YouTube, the Sundance Channel, the Tribeca Film Festival, The Paradigm Agency, among many others.
Current 2014 NYFEST partners include City Soccer in the Community, The Claudio Reyna Foundation and Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. New York City FC, the sponsor of 2014 NYFEST, will also be offering exclusive season-ticket offerings for New York City FC’s 2015 inaugural campaign; first-run official apparel featuring its newly minted insignia; meet-and-greets with the club’s front office; and kids’ clinics led by its affiliate youth organizations on site. Proceeds from the event go to City Soccer in the Community and the Claudio Reyna Foundation.
