The Bronx Museum partners with The Bronx Writers Center at the Bronx Council on the Arts and the PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature to host two workshops for writers followed by a panel of noted African writers in conversation about the importance of elders in life and art.
1:00pm to 3:00pm: “Writing Fiction from Memories, ” workshop with author Chantel Acevedo.
3:30pm to 5:30pm: “Finding One’s Voice in Writing,” workshop with author Billy Kahora
6:30pm to 8:00pm: “The Witnesses,” a discussion featuring Vinie Burrows and noted African writers Boubacar Boris Diop, Yusef Komunyakaa, Achille Mbembe, and Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o. Moderated by Rashidah Ismaili.
