We were thrilled to be part of the 2024 Queens Pride Parade on Sunday, June 2nd, once again capturing the joy, pride, and diversity of this incredible event! Having covered it a few times in the past, this parade holds a special place in our hearts as our second favorite Pride celebration in NYC.

The parade, which kicked off at 12:00 PM, was alive with floats, marching bands, vibrant music, and the energy of marchers waving Pride flags, all set against the backdrop of a festive atmosphere. Spanning 37th Avenue from 89th Street to 75th Street, this annual tradition celebrates the LGBTQ+ community while embracing the cultural diversity that makes Queens unique.

This year’s parade drew tens of thousands of attendees, marking the beginning of Pride Month in New York City. Notable figures such as New York State Attorney General Letitia James were in attendance, alongside numerous other NYC dignitaries, underscoring the event’s significance and widespread support.

The parade also honored its roots, commemorating its founding in 1993 by Daniel Dromm and Maritza Martinez to memorialize Julio Rivera, a Jackson Heights resident who was killed in a hate crime. Over the years, it has grown into the second-largest Pride parade in New York City, both in size and importance.

Following the parade, a lively multicultural festival brought the celebration to the heart of Jackson Heights, running from 11 AM to 6 PM at the intersection of 37th Road and 75th Street. The festival featured food vendors, live entertainment, and performances, including a headline act by Julian Austin, who took the stage for the fourth time.

Join us in reliving the magic of the 2024 Queens Pride Parade through our coverage, and let’s look forward to next year’s celebration!
