Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Will Be Cut Down and On Its Way to New York City by Week’s End
A photo of the tree can be found near the bottom of this page
The details are in and a 75 foot tall, 45 foot in diameter Norway Spruce will be on its way to Rockefeller Center this week.
I reported recently (based on other reports in the area) about the good chance that a tree had been selected in the city of Oneonta, NY. I was able to chat very briefly with Al Dick over the weekend but he was totally mum. Now we know!
The 11 ton tree will be cut down tomorrow morning, hoisted onto a 115 foot long trailer and transported down to NYC with an estimated arrival on November 14.
Details on how folks will get to visit the tree will be coming around in the weeks ahead. Also, no one will be allowed visual access to the tree being erected upon its arrival.
