2018 Mad. Sq. Hort Public Programming Announced
Madison Square Park Conservancy Hosts An Eclectic Mix Of
Public Horticulture Programs In The Park
Madison Square Park Conservancy has announced the schedule of 2018 Mad. Sq. Hort Public Programs. Mad. Sq. Park’s public programs connect visitors in engaging ways to the Park’s gardens, green spaces, pathways, art exhibitions, and history.
Mad. Sq. Hort has a number of events taking place this season including a kick-off event on Arbor Day (April 27th) celebrating the Park’s trees, its accreditation as a Class 1 Arboretum by ArbNet, and the completion of a 30-60 year tree succession plan. Programs will include Hort tours with our Deputy Director of Horticulture and other Park gardeners throughout the year, MFA students from The New School connecting horticulture with poetry in May and bird watching in the Park. In addition, we will have our 3rd annual Mad. Sq. Hort Day: Hydrangea Hurrah on June 23 and our Leaf Fest on November 10.
All programs in Madison Square Park are free and open to all, and take place rain or shine.
