2016 Summer Movie Series Lineup

Free Outdoor Screenings to Take Place on Intrepid’s Flight Deck

The Intrepid Summer Movie Series returns this summer with a selection of six feature films. Each film will be introduced by a special guest speaker who can provide unique insight into that evening’s selection. Members of the public are invited to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets to the Intrepid Museum to view the films outdoors, free of charge, on a huge inflatable screen on the Flight Deck of the historic aircraft carrier.

The lineup for the 2016 Intrepid Summer Movie Series is:

  • Friday, May 27:
    Top Gun
  • Thursday, July 7:
    Star Trek (2009)
  • Thursday, July 14:
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
  • Thursday, July 21:
    Galaxy Quest
  • Friday, July 29:
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
  • Friday, August 5:

Doors open at 6:30pm and the program will begin at sunset. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. Light concessions will be sold onsite, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and beverages to the screening as well. Alcohol is not permitted. All exits are final; there is no reentry allowed.

Intrepid Museum members will receive priority access to the screenings. The Intrepid Museum strives to make all public programs accessible for people with disabilities and these films are all captioned for the hearing impaired.

Prior to the doors opening, Guided Tours of the submarine Growler, the Concorde, and the Space Shuttle Pavilion will be available at 6:00pm. Tours require a non-refundable ticket and take place rain or shine.
